Dr. Alberto M. Figueroa Medina, associate Professor from the Civil Engineering and Surveying Department of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (UPRM) has been appointed by the Governor of Puerto Rico as President and General Manager of the Metropolitan Bus Authority (MBA). The MBA is the largest bus transit service in the San Juan Metropolitan Area, serving 1.17 million people. Dr. Figueroa has a BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the UPRM and a PhD in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. He joined UPRM as a faculty member in 1999.
