The 2011 Women’s Transportation Seminar Helen M. Overly Memorial Scholarship award (WTS), co-sponsored by UTRC, was given to Kwan Hui from Rutgers University. Ms. Hui is enrolled in City and Regional Planning program at the Bloustein School of Public Policy and Planning concentrating in Housing and Transportation. After graduation, Kwan hopes to begin her career as a transit planner and pursue a Ph.D. in the near future. She earned her BA in Political Science and Urban Studies at Rutgers University. She completed her Masters in Public Administration from the same institution with a focus on Public Management in May 2010. Kwan spent the past year in Hong Kong studying Transport Policy and Planning at the University of Hong Kong completing her dissertation on community engagement in the development process of Hong Kong’s high-speed regional Express Rail Link (XRL).
