Leonard Braun Memorial Graduate Scholarship Recipient

The Leonard Braun Memorial Scholarship (WTS), co-sponsored by UTRC, was awarded to Staci Haber. Staci Haber is the 2012 recipient for the Staci Haber received her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the New College of Florida, the Honors College of the State University system. Ms. Haber completed an Honor’s thesis, which researched the feasibility of suburban transit and reducing automotive dependency in the United States. She is currently enrolled in NYU Wagner’s Master of Urban Planning program, specializing in Environment, Infrastructure, and Transportation. Ms. Haber also participated in the Leadership and International Fellowship Experience (LIFE), a leadership program through which she interned in Israel and India, focusing on the relationship between social justice and transportation access. At LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd, one of India’s top civil engineering firms, she promoted accessibility and equity as part of the City of Hyderabad’s Comprehensive Transportation Study. Ms. Haber is currently interning at the New York City Department of Transportation, where she is coordinating the Mobility Management program which is designed to improve transportation accessibility in the greater New York region.
