The goal of this research project is to determine if Crumb Rubber-Modified Performance Graded Asphalt Binder (CRM PGAB), produced using the Terminal Blend Method, can be accurately tested and can conform to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, [AASHTO] M320-05, Standard Specification for Performance Graded Asphalt Binder [PGAB]. A particular area of concern with the Terminal Blend Method is that some CR particles may remain in the modified binder and that the presence of those particles may interfere with the accuracy of the testing of that binder.
