Dr. Cynthia Chen was an assistant professor in the department of civil engineering at the City College of New York. She received her Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of California at Davis in 2001. Before she came to UC Davis for a Ph.D. degree, she worked as a senior research associate at a transportation consulting firm in San Francisco. After she graduated from UC Davis with a Ph.D. in 2001, she worked as a transportation planner/engineer at Metropolitan Transportation Commission in Oakland. She was a post-doc at UC Davis between 2002 and fall 2003. Her research expertise and interests include: travel behavior analysis, network analysis, demand and supply analysis, intelligent transportation system, innovations in survey research, facility designs, land use patterns and human-machine interactions etc. She has published a number of articles in peer-reviewed journals. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, sightseeing and doing nothing!
